#Why this pattern exists

Passenger comfort and perceived safety at a stop directly affect transit ridership; a stop with no protection from weather discourages waiting and signals that the route is not a priority investment. This pattern exists to document shelter as a distinct facility with its own siting, sizing, and structural considerations, separate from the platform it sits on and the route it serves.

  • Sizing should scale with ridership volume at the stop, not be applied uniformly regardless of demand
